Hand over ownership

Make an Admin the Owner of the organization — for example when a business changes hands.

Every organization has exactly one Owner. Only the Owner can hand over ownership, and only to an existing Admin.

  1. Make sure the new Owner is an Admin

    Invite them first if needed.

  2. Open Settings → Team

    Choose Hand over ownership.

  3. Pick the Admin and confirm

    You become an Admin; they become the Owner.

Think it through

The Owner is the only person who can hand over ownership again or ask Hectile to close the organization. Billing stays with the organization; it doesn’t follow a person.

Common questions

Can the Owner be removed?

No. Hand over ownership first, then the former Owner can be removed like any Admin.
