Delivery notes and GST delivery challans
Send goods with the right paper. A delivery note lists what’s delivered — with or without prices — and gets signed on receipt. In India, GST delivery challans cover deliveries in lots, job work, goods on approval, exhibitions and repairs, in three copies.

Choose the purpose
For a challan, the purpose sets the tax and the e-way bill sub-type.
Issue and send
Numbered DLN- or DC-, sent, shared or printed like any document.
Close the loop
Mark Delivered, or for goods on approval, convert what the customer kept.
Invoice only what they kept
Send goods on approval with a challan. When the customer decides, Convert to Invoice asks what they kept per line — those quantities become a tax invoice draft; the rest are returned. A week before six months pass, the Brand’s people are reminded, because goods not returned count as supplied.
Proof of delivery, signed
Delivery notes carry no tax and never change what a customer owes. “Delivered by” and a “Received in good condition — name, signature and date” line make them proof of delivery; Mark Delivered records who received it and when.

Questions about Delivery notes & challans
Does a delivery note change the balance?
No. It never changes what the customer owes and has no due date.
Can I deliver an invoice in several lots?
Yes. Each delivery names the invoice line it delivers, and Hectile refuses a lot that would pass the invoice’s quantity.
Can I make an e-way bill from a challan?
Yes — the e-way bill file works from invoices and challans.
Do challans appear in GSTR-1?
Yes, in the documents issued table by type: job work, on approval and others.
