1.What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits. It lets a site recognise your browser — for example, to keep you signed in or remember a setting. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are first-party; cookies set by another domain, such as a provider the site relies on, are third-party.
Similar technologies include browser local storage and session storage (data kept in your browser without being sent automatically to a server) and identifiers embedded in links. This policy covers all of these together as “cookies” unless a distinction matters.
A cookie may last only for your visit (session) or for a set period (persistent).
2.How Hectile uses them
Hectile uses cookies and browser storage for the following purposes:
- To keep you signed in and protect your session.
- To remember application state, such as the Organization you were last working in and interface preferences.
- To protect sign-in and forms against automated abuse.
Hectile does not use cookies for advertising or to track you across other websites. Any optional technology, such as website analytics, is listed in section 3 as optional and, where the law requires, is set only with your consent.
3.Technologies in use
4.Necessary technologies and consent
The sign-in technologies listed above are necessary: without them you could not sign in or stay signed in securely. They are used because they are needed to provide the service you asked for, and are not subject to a consent choice. First-party application storage is functional: it keeps your place and preferences in the application while you are signed in. Hectile does not use cookies for advertising. Where optional technologies such as website analytics are used, they are listed in section 3 as optional and, where the law requires, set only with your consent.
5.Your choices and browser controls
You can control cookies through your browser settings: most browsers let you view, block and delete cookies and site data, in total or for individual sites, and can be set to clear cookies when you close them. Blocking the necessary cookies above will prevent you from signing in to Hectile. Your browser’s help pages explain the exact steps for your browser and device.
6.Third-party technologies
The sign-in and abuse-protection technologies above are set for hectile.com by the Hectile application and by the providers that host and secure it; those providers and their roles are described on the Subprocessors page. Emails sent through Hectile on behalf of an Organization are delivered by our email provider, which reports delivery events (such as delivered or bounced) to the sending Organization; these emails do not set cookies.
7.Changes and contact
We will update this policy when the technologies we use change. The effective date at the top shows the version in force. Questions: Contact Legal. See also the Privacy Policy.
