Turn on GST invoicing
Switch on GST invoicing for your organization in India, add your registration and issue your first checked tax invoice.
GST invoicing is optional, even in India. Turn it on when you’re registered; leave it off for simple invoices. It exists only for organizations whose country is India — nothing GST-related is shown anywhere else.
- Turn it on
Settings → GST (or choose the GST business starting point).
- Check your main registration
Your organization’s GSTIN and registered address become it. Add others per state if you have them.
- Set customers’ GST status
Registered, unregistered, composition, overseas or SEZ, with their GSTIN.
- Give items HSN/SAC codes
And GST units for goods.
- Create a tax invoice
The GST panel and the checks guide you.
- Registration — the invoice’s GSTIN: the Brand’s default, or another (several registrations).
- Place of supply — from the customer’s GSTIN, shown for you to check; printed as “Karnataka (29)”.
- Supply type — Regular, Export or SEZ with or without IGST, or Deemed export.
What turns on with it

Each can be switched in Settings›Features›GST.
Invoice normally now. Before GST invoicing is on, any invoice that charges CGST, SGST, IGST or UTGST still needs your GSTIN and registered address.
Common questions
Does turning it on change invoices I already issued?
No. Issued documents keep exactly what they were issued with.
Can I turn it off again?
Yes. Invoices then work as before; GST documents already issued stay.
