Organizations and Brands in Hectile

An Organization is your legal business — the boundary for the subscription, the team and shared records. Brands are the trading identities it issues documents under, each with its own presentation, defaults and numbering. Paid Organizations include unlimited Brands.

One legal business, two operating Brands

Meridian Ventures Ltd. is one company that trades as a design studio and as a marketing agency. In Hectile that is one Organization with two Brands — one subscription, one team, one customer list.

What a Brand controls

Each Brand presents itself to customers independently. Documents issued under a Brand carry that Brand’s identity and count in that Brand’s sequence.

PresentationDisplay name, logo, contact details and the footer text customers see on documents and emails.
DefaultsDefault currency and default notes, terms and payment instructions for new Drafts. Defaults are starting points; every Draft can override them.
NumberingIts own prefix and sequence for invoices and estimates, e.g. BR-INV-000119 for Brightline Design and HM-INV-000058 for Harbor Marketing. Numbers are assigned at finalization and never reused.

What the Organization shares

  • Customers are Organization-level. Riverside Trading LLC can be billed by Brightline Design one month and Harbor Marketing the next without a second record.
  • Saved Items and Services are available to every Brand’s documents.
  • Team members belong to the Organization and work across all its Brands. Membership is not restricted to a single Brand.
  • Tax profiles and legal details belong to the Organization, because the tax identity is the legal business, not the trading name.
  • The subscription covers the whole Organization. Unlimited Brands are included on the paid plan; the trial includes one Primary Brand.

When you need another Organization

Brands are for one legal business trading under several names. A separate legal entity — a different company, with its own registration and tax identity — needs its own Organization and its own subscription, even if the people are the same.

Same company, different trading names

Brightline Design and Harbor Marketing are both Meridian Ventures Ltd. → two Brands in one Organization.

Different legal companies

Clearpath Consulting Pvt. Ltd. in India is a separate registered company → its own Organization, its own subscription, its own tax profiles and numbering. Nothing is shared between Organizations.

Second Organizations and the trial
