Estimate replies: accept, request changes, decline

How customers reply on the estimate link, who is told, and what to do with a change request or a decline.

2 min readUpdated 26 October 2026About This Feature

The estimate’s secure link has three buttons for your customer, each with a confirmation:

Accept

Records acceptance — with their option choices. A deposit invoice can be drafted for you.

Request Changes

A note is required, so you know exactly what to change.

Decline

An optional reason and note.

When a reply arrives

The person who sent the estimate is told — in the bell and by email (their choice). If nobody sent it, the Owner and Admins are. Connect Slack to post replies to a channel too.

  1. The request — the customer’s own words, on the estimate.
  2. Correct Estimate — make the change and send the updated estimate.
  3. Mark as Handled — when you sorted it another way.
Recommended

Reply to a change request with Correct Estimate rather than a new estimate — the history stays in one place and the customer sees the update on the same kind of link.

Common questions

Can a customer change their mind after accepting?

Not on the link. Talk to them, then Correct Estimate (for estimates with options, while nothing has been made from them).

Do replies use email credits?

No. Notices to your team never use credits.
